1962 Chevrolet Corvette

Classic Corvette lines, a modern Roadster Shop foundation, and a carefully finished engine bay. Don’s 1962 build brings the details together one panel, pipe, and trim piece at a time.

Final assembly

The work on Don’s Corvette runs from the shape of the body to the systems beneath it. Chris documented the team sharpening the body lines and block sanding the panels before the car reached the paint booth in summer 2025. The green finish makes that preparation especially visible along the fenders and cove.

Underneath, the build uses a Roadster Shop chassis. A Don Hardy 6.2-liter engine first fired in March 2026 with a base tune from AutoTrend EFI. The team then worked through heat cycles, panel installation, trim fitment, and plumbing as the Corvette came together.

By July 2026, the plumbing was complete and the team was working on trim. Inside Out Customs handled the leather dash-pad installation while assembly continued through August. The September shop update shows the Corvette close to the door, with its paint, stance and exterior details coming together.

Shape & color

Panel shaping and block sanding established the body lines before the green finish was applied.

First fire

The engine came to life in March 2026, followed by heat cycles and continued assembly.

Plumbing, exterior trim and interior preparation followed as the car approached its final assembly stage.
